That’s right folks – it’s time again to talk about this month’s featured etsy blogger – it it’s no other than our very own fearless leader Joey and Aleethea!!! Now, the only sad part about this is that I KNOW Joey had a real name (I read it in another bloggers post) and I was so startled to hear it after thinking of her as Joey all this time … that it flew RIGHT out of my head! *Sigh*
Joey is a great artist and wonderful team leader, and I’m sure an even better mother! She tells us lots of wonderful stories about her adorable kids, sews like crazy, and somehow finds the time to lead our team with a gentle hand! I’ve gotten to work with her a lot lately as I undertake a project for the team, and it’s been a great experience! She’s very supportive and she’s ALWAYS telling me how much I rock – which I think is an exaggeration – but is always nice to hear!
Here’s a few of her wonderful pieces from her shop!
This retro muscle car outfit is my new favorite

And who wouldn’t love a monster onsie?

And what mother doesn’t need more cute burp clothes?

And anyone who’s ever cared for a baby knows how true this is:

Thanks for all you do for us Joey!

That’s right folks its that time again! Blog Carnival time with the etsy bloggers. One choice for this weeks article was to talk about our favorite color – and that’s super easy for me! Hands down, no questions asked, my favorite color is PURPLE!!!! Just look at my avatar:

That matches the design on my earring cards and necklace strips – and soon my banner and and business cards as well! *dances in excitement*
In honor of my favorite color I’d like to feature a few of YOU – my dear etsy bloggers – who have excellent uses of the color purple in your work
These sponges by glorybe are not only practicle – their adorable!

And doesn’t this bath set by spottedcowsoaps look enticing?

If I had a little girl what would I be dressing her in? That’s right – Purple!

And a loverly decorative bowl…

And for a beautiful shrug…

And of course I love jewelry – so here’s a few of my fav’s by YOU guys!
A neclace by A Keepers Jackpot

Earrings by DesignByNora

And a bracelet by StormyDesigns!

And now for a few of MY pieces – because the instructions DID say we were supposed to show our favorite color as it appears our work
Funny thing is that for some reason the only purple pieces I could think of were the one’s I’d kept for myself… then when I started doing a team search for purple I kept finding myself! Searched my shop and turns out I DO have 11 items. I’m not going to post them all -don’t worry! I think I just don’t feel like I have that many cuz really? 11 vs 83 in the shop? Yeah, not that many. However a large part of this is I’ve spent a lot of time working on expanding my color range because I know how much I tend towards purple. Looking at the numbers – I think I can afford to indulge myself some more in my favorite color – what do you think? LOL Now as long as I can bear to part with them…

I had to laugh when I realized that this edition of the etsy bloggers Blog Carnival assigned us to review a book! I spend so much time reading that its a rather easy chore for me in general. AND I even have a book for jewelry artists to recommend! I borrowed this book from my friend Jeanna of GeckoJewelry and I plan on buying my own copy to keep as a reference!

This book has lots of wonderful advice on how to price your jewelry, how to handle wholesale and consignment sales, advertising, creating your image, and all the various nuts and bolts of being a successful jewelry artist! Its helped me re-think some of my pricing and I look forward to implementing a lot of the ideas as my silly damaged wrist heals

As I’ve mentioned in some of my recent posts – I’m now a member of the Etsy Bloggers Street Team! One of the fun things that the team does is they have a few monthly blog theme’s that they ask us, the members, to particpate in. Since I love to blog I’m more than happy to do so! This is my first one
Every month the team will feature a different artist – and July is A Keeper’s Jackpot!
A Keeper’s Jackpot is a jewelry artist like myself – but she does the type of designs I aspire to do when I have more money for supplies! I had a lot of fun browsing her shop
I’m always interested in why people chose the names they do, and what got them started, and this artist obligingly tells us right in her profile! In her own words (copied from store profile): “A Keeper’s Jackpot is an anagram using the nicknames of my husband, myself, and our two cats. I got into beading after my sister gave me a handmade beaded necklace as a gift a couple years ago. I’ve expanded my interests to wire wrapping, wire crochet, and polymer clay. My newest endeavor is decoupage, so look for some pendants in the future! It has become a hobby, and hopefully a way to make a little money on the side.”
Being a fellow EtsyBlogger -she of course has her own blog! Check it out
And now my favorite part of featuring an artist – showcasing their work! Here’s a couple of my favorite pieces
Crocheted Pearl Necklace – I have NO CLUE how she makes this – but it’s gorgeous!

You have to check out the listing for this necklace!
A Mood Swing Jasper Necklace and Bracelet Set
Why? Well she created a new meaning for mood swing! And it’s genius!

And of course I have to feature my favorite purple piece!
Peter Picked a Peck of Purple Pewter Seashells by the Seashore Choker

There are sooo many great pieces in her shop that it was hard to narrow it down to just a few to share with you guys! I highly recommend you go check out her shop yourself to see the rest
